Focusing on You: Mauricio G. Cohen, M.D.
During the September 1 segment of “Focusing on You: Breakthroughs in Precision Medicine,” Mauricio G. Cohen, M.D., director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, discusses an innovative procedure which was developed to treat aortic stenosis. Not all patients are candidates for traditional surgery to replace the aortic valve. Those of advanced age and/or in poor health may not survive this type of surgery. UHealth is a pioneer of this minimally-invasive procedure called TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) that has provided hope for these patients.
