Research Interests

Integration of advanced imaging applications and MRI to external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy.  Additionally interests include, image-guided adaptive radiation therapy and deformable image registration.

Kyle R. Padgett, Ph.D. received his doctorate in Medical Physics from the University of Florida in 2005. Following this, Dr. Padgett joined the research faculty in the Department of Radiology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine as the Director of the “High-Field MRI Bio-Medical Research Facility”. In November 2011, Dr. Padgett changed his primary faculty appointment to Assistant Professor in the Radiation Oncology Department at the University of Miami to integrate advanced MRI techniques into the planning process for external beam radiotherapy, with an emphasis on prostate cancer. He has published over 18 papers in peer-reviewed journals and over 30 abstracts. He is a reviewer for the Medical Physics Journal and International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics Journal.
